Celebrating being 6!

 Chi started off his birthday celebration with this gift from Dan and I. A brand new bike (first time he has gotten a brand new bike) and bike ramp!

This year we decided not to do a party, but celebrate with just grandparents at Malachi's favorite place.....Craig's Cruisers!

This little boy turns 6 today.

Happy Birthday to one special boy.

There is so much to love about this little guy. The way he tells me how he likes my hair or what shirt he thinks I should wear. The way he tickles his little cousins. The way he tries so hard to accomplish something (like swimming this year..way to go!). The way he ask so many questions and soaks in so much knowledge. The way his heart beats for Jesus. The way he crawls up in my lap just to be held. The way he is growing up right before my eyes.

Week of swimming

While swimming wasn't the only focus this past week at Sandy Pines..it sure was a majority of our week. Malachi started the week off by passing the swim test (allowing him to be able to go down the slide and swim in the waterpark pool with-out a life jacket)...he was thrilled!
Korra on the other hand wasn't qutie able to pass the swim test, but sure has progressed in her swimming has well!

Here Korra is jumping off the side of the pool and swimming to Grandma. This girl loves to be underwater!

We got lots of cousin time in too...don't mind the lack of shirts (someday she will not like this darling photo).

There was some fishing too.

Overall we had a great time...busy...but fun!

30 dollars well spent

 A couple of weeks ago I found this pool at a garage sale. The pool was still in the box and had a price tag on it of 150.00. I was so excited to find out they were selling it for 30!!! I was able to put up the pool by myself Saturday morning and even in the last few days this pool has provided hours of entertainment.

 The pool has been helpful in helping the kids improve their swimming skills as well. Swimming lessons cost more than 30 dollars! Korra has taken off this year and does really well swimming! Malachi improves more and more each time he goes.
Oh how I wish we could keep this pool up longer..summer is too short!

A few days to unwind

 Nothing like going from one place to the next. Last week we got home on Sunday and left Tuesday to spend a few days at the cabin. Some friends came to visit on Wedndsday and we just enjoyed being in the water together. Malachi loves catching frogs and could have spent the entire three days catching these things. We don't always see them by the river, but because of the incredible warm weather we have been having we are finding all kinds. 16 to be exact!

 Feels good to be home, but it won't last long.  Our days were mostly spent canoeing, catching frogs, riding on the quad/golfcart, and just being together.

a hot one

This past week was a hot one for camping! So what did we do to survive the 90-100 degree temps?...hit the beach!!

but not before we did our toenails....

 And when the beach was just too much we found the paint or

caught some of these or

 stayed in the air! All in a weeks time!

Upon returning home the piles of laundry was not our only surprise..Dan threw me a 30th birthday party!! More on being 30 another time...need to get the laundry :)
