field trip!

 

 Friday this little guy and I had our first field trip together.  The entire young fives and kindergarten class and their parents went. We started at the Children's museum. Malachi loves this place. 

 

 Then we went to the zoo for a picnic and some animal fun. Malachi's favorite part of the whole trip was going to the store because it was cool inside...or could be because he was able to pick out one special thing. His choice....a shark tooth necklace. (which he broke that night wrestling with his sister). Loved spending the day with this little guy!

how she wears her hair

 Having a girl is so much fun. I love doing hair...surprising since I hardly do my own..i know!
Anyway this is just a few ways Korra has been wearing her hair lately.

The side french braid...this is my favorite, but only on Korra's good days can we accomplish this do!

A few braids back into the ever popular pony tail.

When in doubt add a zig-zag part.

I often get remarks on how long Korra's hair is ..both positive and negative. I really don't understand why people have to give opinions on everything, but it is what it is. While I don't mind doing her hair everyday it can be challenging to untangle each snarl, and there are tears. Although when Aunt Angie comes over with the scissors this girl tears up she doesn't want it cut. So a few trims have taken place, but I don't see a bob in the future...who knows?

bugs

Malachi has been obsessed with bug hunting lately and we often find him carrying a net. He has several caterpillars already under lock and key in his room...ahh we may soon be a butterfly house hmm .... not a bad idea maybe we can make money?
Anyway today he yelled from the driveway:
"mom come look I found something interesting, something I have never seen before, two bugs stuck together!"
I just had to laugh.

Then when I was folding laundry tonight, he picked up one of my old sweatshirts and said, "mom I love it when you wear this shirt and leave your hair down it is so cute." charming!
