God doesn't care about our clothes

Love the way he works on things- so much concentration!
Today as we painted our snow fort with food coloring and water I told them how they needed to be careful about their clothing because it would stain. Malachi preceded to ask the following:
"what about my face will it stain my face?"
"No, but be careful anyway," I replied
"Oh because God won't let it stain our face, because He cares for us and He doesn't really care about our clothes?" he asked.
So true...just some more wise words from a five year old.
Just had to sneak this picture in of Korra doing "homework"!

Temporary Home

It is official we are licensed foster care workers! We are so excited to extend our family temporarily or permanently.

I have had this song on my mind a lot lately. I am not sure if it is because of the new journey we are about to endear or just my state of mind. This song always makes me think about what I do on a daily basis that does not matter! This world is temporary we will soon be home for eternity!!! What are you doing in this temporary world to impact your eternity?

snowy day

First of I would like to thank parent magazine for the fabulous idea of using socks to hold on those mittens!!! Korra is always taking her mittens off so I was excited to give this idea a try and for the most part it worked great! Just cut the toe part of the sock off and cut a smaller hole for the fingers and slide it on! Hands warm snow fun!
We spent the better part of our snow day building a house turned to hunting blind. Love the way this boy's mind works. We each took turns being the deer and sitting in the blind. Love this winter and sporadic snow...so much more enjoyable!

No words

No words can describe the determination.

No words can describe the independence. No words can describe the love we have for this little lady!
Weighing it at 26 1/2 lbs this little lady is a blend of energy, sweetness, sas, and control...don't let her size fool you!

Malachi and Buzz

Malachi loves Buzz light year. I wasn't sure if it was going to be the best Christmas present. I thought for sure he would play with it for a few weeks and then move on... I was wrong. Buzz goes everywhere with Chi. He asked me the other day if he was able to take a few toys to college with him (too much toy story)... hold on boy....don't even think about college.. you are mine for a few more years....of time goes too fast! Just a reminder to cherish the time I have with them.
Malachi came home with this picture from church on Sunday. He wanted to tell me all about it.
This is what he said:
"Mom, this is the cross where Jesus died. There is the Indian guarding the tomb."

Indian really...? Funny.

heart day preperations

Malachi had his V-day party on Friday because he has Monday and Tuesday off. We sent him off with several toy story 3 Valentine's that he carefully wrote his name on each one (using his eraser several times..didn't know we had such a perfectionist of our hands). I also sent him to school with several chocolate roses for his teachers and helpers.

This has been on our counter for the past few weeks. Each time the kids do something loving a heart goes into the basket. Our goal-10 loving acts!

I made these for center pieces for a church event I had to make one for myself to test them out. Basically I spray painted some twigs (thankful for the warm weather last week) and glues on some pink tulle. Viola! Korra crafted some coffee filter hearts with some washable marker and some water. (one of my all time favorites!) They are hung on our window and I will be sad to see them go after heart day is over..they may just have to hang around!

Kiddo favorites!

There are two things the kids have been asking for lately and honestly I don't mind a bit!
First off is the monster cookie. Basically a pie pan filled with cookie dough (choc chip of course!!). Cook according to directions, but take out before it is done (about two minutes sooner). The best part add ice cream to the top and everyone get a spoon and dig in! Korra doesn't care for the ice cream on the top so we each have to have our own plates...bummer!

Next off is this fabulous recipe found on none other than pinterest, but really why didn't I think of this before! Frozen bread dough and pb and j..what could be better! Directions: thaw dough and spread out on pan. Apply pb and J (go lightly because this will ooze) and bake at 350 till done (about 20 min). Let cool and dig in! Malachi just loves this!!

This two things make the kids so giddy (or strong as Malachi thinks).
