"Malachi, you need to pick up your toys," I said.
"Mommy I am busy they will have to wait," he replied.
I was confronted with the reality that I often put chores in front of the more important things in life. Today at M&M's we talked about Martha in the Bible. Martha is too busy to sit and listen to Jesus. She is caught up in the chores and busyness of life. She is frustrated that Mary is not helping and is sitting at the feet of Jesus. She even complains to God saying, "do you not care about me." She is caught by surprise when He replies to her telling her that Mary has chosen what is better.
Today I am reminding myself:
Amanda Amanda sit with God and listen, breathe and feel His presence in your life. Know that there are many things to this life, but God is the only thing that gives us true life!

Luke 10:38-42
³⁸As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. ³⁹She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. ⁴⁰But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!"

⁴¹"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, ⁴²but only one thing is needed.^a]">[a] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."
