the unknowns

I can hardly believe that we will be meeting our newest addition very shortly. I am so excited yet so anxious. There is so much we don't know:
Will this baby be a sister for Chi and Korra or a brother?
Will this baby's platelet count be where it needs to be?
Will the baby be able to stay by my side while we are in the hospital and come home with us when it is time?
How will the kids adjust to having a little one around?
How will I adjust to no sleep?
Will our baby be ready to come?
Are we making the right decisions for our little?
How big will this baby be (according to the ultrasound tech today ... this baby is a lug!! lol We anticipated a smaller baby being weeks early, although with the steroids I am on, I am thinking this will not be the case!)?

The Knowns:
Treatment has gone incredibly well, and I am wrapping up my 13th one, with only 3 more to go!
The kids are thrilled and have loved feeling the baby move.
I have been blessed with great care by my doctor and the nurses.
I have been blessed with great family and friends support.
These moments will seem miniscule in compared to a life time with our third little.
I am excited.
I am anxious.
God is faithful.

Injection #1

One down 16 to go!!! I had my first injection of gamma globulin (ivig) Tuesday night. It went really well and no side effects!! The only issue was getting the iv in...stinking rolling veins..who knew? Anyway the anticipated 8 hours ended up being exactly 4.. I was able to handle a higher dose at a time. This means half the amount of time per injection..which makes me really happy! We also got to get a good look at baby #3 before being admitted. All is well and baby is right on track. Hard to believe we are half way through this journey. At the beginning of this all I wasn't sure how to feel: scared, happy, depressed, overwhelmed, lucky, confused, etc. Now I just feel blessed. 4 hours of weekly injections is nothing when I think of what this baby will add to our family. Again God wins!

Reminded

The countdown has begun, not officially. Although my heart keeps reminding me.
Keeps reminding me each morning I wake up and look at the clock and read 8:** sometimes closer to 9 then 8...hey I am following the mantra: "sleep when they sleep!" I am also reminded everytime it is noon and I have to remind Chi to put on some clothes or when I have to remind Korra to take off her swimming suit. I am reminded when I put away clothes and see the new tags hanging from the clothes waiting to be worn. Reminded when Chi asks, "when can I stay at Grandmas?" Reminded when I am trying to squeeze in that trip to the zoo, or schedule those dance lessons. Reminded as we play "school" downstairs. Reminded when I put the kids down to bed later then they need too. Reminded as Korra crawls in bed with me at the break of dawn only to snuggle up and fall back to sleep. Reminded as I think of all the things come and gone this summer. As the countdown begins, I am reminded of the countless times I have held them, bathed them, fed them, kissed them, read to them, sang to them, cried with them, played with them, and prayed for them. I am reminded that in just a few weeks Malachi will be going off to Kindergarten all day, and Korra will start a school adventure of her own. I am reminded that I love summer, but I love summer with my kids even more!

My new loves

When Dan's grandma past away last year I was given her sew machine. Now that we are settled in our home I thought it was time to give it a whirl. So with a little help from my granny we got it up in running in no time, and it works like a charm. So my first sewing project on my new machine was these pants......

I saw these pants at a sale this past weekend and new I could make them.
First I found a pair of pants that were getting a little short on Korra and then I looked up a tutorial. I found this one on you tube, and I love how simple it was to follow. After I made the pants I used the fabric to make a little design and applied it using steam a seam. The fabric cost me 1.50 and Korra has a new outfit..I'd say it was well worth it! Now on to bigger and better projects. Have any fun and easy tutorials you use for sewing?

sick again

An allergic reaction .....my poor sweet boy!

I feel like the last few months have been an endless road of dr appointments and sicknesses. October broken arm, November the flu, December three week cold, and now January brings bronchitis. Seriously!!! I just want to be healthy!!! Malachi is under the weather too, and it is always so sad when your babies are sick. Malachi is especially sweet when he is sick and just curls up next to me and falls asleep. He started off with a sinus infection, so was put on an antibiodic well woke up yesterday with a serious reaction to the antibiodic. So off to the doctors again.
So here is my commercial for good health: co-pays 90.00. prescriptions 103.00, 7-up and all the other goods 10.00, good health priceless!

Another year

Another year gone by another year oh my!!!
I can't believe that I am 27~
Wow the last 27 years have been harder and more fulfilling than I imagined.
When I was younger and I would look at a women in her late 20's and I would think she had it all together. Now I know that women are really good at hiding. I know that when you are a women, wife, and mommy you never have it all together. You may be a good actress but truthfully we all feel as if we are falling apart at different times in our lives. I remember the weeks after I took Malachi home from the hospital...thinking I am totally failing at this. I am tired, stressed, and overwhelmed ..so-in-so made it look so easy. Than I looked at how I was acting when friends came over...carrying on with that "It's all good" attitude. After months of putting on the front I came to the conclusion that women all over are looking for someone to step out and be honest. I truly believe that admitting that this journey is not easy is not a weakness, but a strength. God knows we can't do it alone, and He does not promise that it will be easy. Although he does promise that He will not leave you of forsake you (Deut. 31:6)
Once I gave myself the freedom to be honest with others, myself, and mostly God I began to have a whole new outlook. I no longer get my worth from the world's perspective of success and prestige, but I look to the ultimate judge!

Thank-you God for given me 27 years of life. 27 years to learn more about you. 27 years to spend with friends and family. 27 years to be used in anyway you desire. 27 years to see your beauty in my children and the world. 27 years of health. I ask that you will continue to use me and mold me into the women you desire for me to be. Thank-you God for allowing me to be a wife, a mommy, and a women. There is no greater joy than having being called your daughter!
Amen!

humbly losing it

It all started yesterday when we were going to head to the park for some play time with some friends. When we saw the weather we decided to head to crazy bounce (which I must say was way fun..good suggestion Rach) instead. My friend called at about 9:30 and said let's meet at 10:15. Ok..no problem was my thought considering I am still in my pjs and I have not feed my children. Anyway I quickly took a shower fed the kids (o-kay if you consider a donut breakfast) and we headed out. As always I was there at 10:14!!! We went in and started to play as we waited for our friends. A short while after they came I looked down only to find that my shirt was inside out. So maybe I was on-time, but put together was another story! The sad thing is I played for another half hour before I thought to go into the bathroom and switch it!
Then today we were going to go to the park with another friend. We switched plans again because of the weather....sticking Michigan...anyway we headed to the indoor park for some fun and picnic. We lasted about an hour and a half when we decided it was time to pack up. I put korra in her stroller, and off we went. Once we got outside I looked down at Chi and realized we left his shoes inside...so I had to run back and get them. I pop the trunk for the stroller and put the kids in the car and off I go. I reach the road and notice my caution light was blinking "trunk open" (or whatever it says) so I stop get out and shut the trunk. Get back in the car and my phone is ringing. It is my friend calling to tell me I left the stroller. Wow that about sums me up!
Honestly this is normally not me...and no I am not pregnant (I hope not anyway!)

Happy Mother's day to me!

There is no joy that compares to being a mom! The strong desire to love your children and hold them so close could only come from God. Being a mom is the most wonderful and exhausting thing I have ever done. I wouldn't trade it for nothing. There are days I want them to stay small so I can hold them forever. Happy Mother's day to all of you!
